At 1546, Abingdon Fire Department was alerted to an alarm activation at the Washington County Courthouse. Upon investigation, an HVAC contractor was soldering some pipe in the basement and set off a smoke detector. The detector was reset along with the main alarm panel inside the Courthouse. Engine 204, Command 209 and Command 210 responded.
